Pressbox (Press Release) -
Imagine Jurassic Park without the humans.
Brilliant new author David Pratt did just that and he’s created a stunning world packed with danger, thrills and adventure.
The 35-year-old from Basingstoke has already published two critically-acclaimed instalments of his Bladefoot series.
The Basingstoke author’s first trip back 65 million years to a land that is now western Canada, entitled Bladefoot, has been rewarded with five-star reviews.
Reviewers described Pratt’s first visit to pre-history as ‘meticulously researched’, ‘well written’, ‘there doesn't feel like any dull moments’.
The author also came in for personal praise following the release of his initial novel set some 65 million years ago, being described as having ‘tonnes of imagination and talent’.
Bladefoot reviewer Jack Seamour added: “The author has obviously done much research into this subject.
“A good read for most age groups.”
Bladefoot is a thrilling coming-of-age story where a young trodon creature leaves the sanctuary of his parents’ protection to embark on a dangerous journey across barren and predator-packed lands.
Avoiding death in only half of the battle for Bladefoot, as finding a mate becomes a growing necessity if he wants to keep his bloodline alive.
Hot on the heels of Pratt’s enthralling first instalment in the Bladefoot series, comes an equally impressive sequel.
Bladefoot Evolved is another thrilling adventure set in a world of blood-thirsty killers where more and more prehistoric creatures come to the fore.
If finding a mate and avoiding death wasn’t hard enough for Bladefoot, the trodon has now become a parent in a world where more and more predators seem to be moving into the territory.
Bladefoot Evolved has already reached the top ten in Amazon’s adventure charts.
Author David said: “In the wild treacherous landscape of ancient North America, dinosaurs and many other species struggle daily to survive.
“Preston the baby trodon, who learns fast to reach adulthood is trying to follow in Bladefoot’s footsteps.”
While the supermarket worker by day is thrilling dinosaur lovers with his new Bladefoot series, David is keeping fans of his other blood-thirsty series satisfied with the release of Black Mamba.
First thought up in his teens, the gripping thriller is set in an underworld of crime and corruption.
Pratt said: ““The idea for what would become my second novel, Black Mamba, was conceived when I was 19.
“I did not however start to write the novel professionally until I was 22.”
Black Mamba is a page-turning thriller telling the story of teenager Daniel Stone who uncovers a pharmaceutical weapon being developed that prevents criminals from re-offending.
From grieving son to professional mercenary, Black Mamba follows Stone’s journey.
Saints City. An island community where everything appears idyllic. But in the city’s underworld, Lord Magnus and the dreaded Gangster Federation spread crime and corruption.
A sequel, Shadow of the Black Mamba, has already been released and David is currently working on the third and final part of the trilogy.
