Top Play to Earn Media Publication Comments on Play to Earn Gaming’s Recent Interest Spike
Play to Earn Diary, popular Play to Earn Gaming and NFT media publication have done some research on the current popularity of Play to Earn Gaming.
They have found that Google Trends data suggests that the current interest in Play to Earn gaming spiked on May 29th to June 4th but has since dropped off.
A spokesperson and P2E enthusiast from the publication said…
“Despite the recent spike, interest in Play to Earn gaming has been relatively low the last few months. Looking at graphical data from Google Trends, interest fell over 50% at the start of February and hasn’t really recovered since. The current decline in the P2E space is not at all surprising given that we're going through a huge bear market in Crypto at the moment. For example, Bitcoin has lost 55% since reaching an all-time high of $69,000 in November 2021. Also, we’ve seen the collapse of Terra and the 7th and 10th largest tokens (LUNA and UST respectively) evaporate.
Adding macroeconomics to this, we are unfortunately quite likely to experience another Crypto Winter but due to the maturity of Web 3 now, we most certainly won’t experience one quite as bad as 2018.”
