As a part of this endeavour, yoga will be made a key component of morning assembly and teachers will be trained and enabled to train the children. In the long run, the introduction of yoga in schools is expected to result in improvement in posture, concentration, and overall health of the students. Highlighting the importance of the event, Akshaya Patra CEO, Shri Shridhar Venkat said: “It is excellent that these children are getting exposure to yoga. It will not just make them healthy but also prepare them to represent their schools on competitive yoga platforms.
