- The parents of a teenager who was controversially cleared of murdering a classmate from Manchester Grammar School have been accused of launching a “PR offensive” after giving an interview to the Sunday Times and employing communications firm MC2.
Yousef Makki was killed after being stabbed with an illegal flick knife during a confrontation in Hale Barns on March 2nd. Joshua Molnar, who grew up in Hale and turns 18 on Tuesday, was cleared of the murder and manslaughter of his friend after claiming he had acted in self defence.
However, he was given a 16-month detention order after admitting possessing an offensive weapon and perverting the course of justice by lying to police.
Yesterday, his mother Stephanie Molnar gave an interview to the Sunday Times Magazine after an order guaranteeing her son’s anonymity had been lifted.
In the interview, she said her son was “incredibly remorseful” about the “tragedy”, but also praised some of his talents and elements of his character. MC2 Communications, based on Little Peter Street in Manchester, have been contracted by the Molnar family to handle press enquiries.
Debbie Makki, the mother of the victim, said: “Who do the Molnars think they are having a publicist? They’re hardly Posh and Becks. They are shameless. They have shown no remorse to us during or since the trial.
“We’ve never heard anything from them. Surely, as human beings they should sympathise with us losing such a huge part of our lives. Instead, they seem to be more worried about tainting their reputations."
Her daughter, Jade Akoum, added: “We have never seen a shred of true remorse. They can have all the money in the world and use a PR company but they can’t change the fact their son killed Yousef and was troubled.”
The Makki family live in Burnage, Manchester, and were able to send their son to Manchester Grammar School after he gained a scholarship.

- KTM Motorcycle
- KTM AG, an Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, has reportedly joined forces with a Chinese Sportmotorcycle brand, CFMOTO, to introduce the joint venture CFMOTO-LTMR2R.
Both has made strides in the past two years designing the production center and new models. It is expected that the construction shall be done by June this year.
The coming completion shows an alluring prospect that KTM will shift production of a number of its middleweight models away from its native Austria and out to China, partly shifting its focus to selling in Asia while freeing up capacity at home for other more prestige models. And as for CFMOTO, the construction will transform it into the first Chinese manufacturer to produce large-capacity multi-cylinder motorcycles.
The collaboration between the two companies has a long history. In 2011, the two companies first entered into a joint venture, with CFMOTO importing and supplying KTM motorcycles across China. Partnership upgraded in 2014, when CFMOTO began assembling Indian-made 200 and 390 Dukes for sale exclusively in China.
Three years ago, in 2017, the collaboration became closer after the signing of an agreement to establish a joint venture, later known as CFMOTO-KTMR2R, and a ground-breaking ceremony was held for a new manufacturing plant in Hangzhou the next year.
The remarkable new factory that will be completed soon is designed to be nearly 25,000 square feet large with a potential annual capacity of 20.000 motorcycles.
When the plant is brought to steam, Hangzhou will turn into KTM’s third global manufacturing site alongside Mattighofen and Pune.
The factory is where CFMOTO 990/1090 V-twin models will be built alongside KTM’s all-new parallel-twin range powered by the 799cc RCBc motor, followed by all 790 models.
The cooperation between the two companies becomes more intensive due to KTM’s trust in CFMOTO’s manufacture. “We have been very positively impressed by CFMOTO’s quality of manufacture, attention to detail, and engineering capability.” Quoting Florian Burguet, Managing Director of KTM Sportmotorcycle AG, who spoke highly of CFMOTO. “Accordingly, from 2020/21 onwards, we have decided that Hangzhou will host the entire production of KTM’s mid-class models for the global market, with the expectations that our CFMOTO partners will produce up to 50,000 KTM motorcycles per year there.”
The oncoming construction of the new factory will lead both companies to develop a new step in various aspects. For KTM, the models with lower prices that will be manufactured in China onwards will make the company more competitive in the category of global 501-900cc Roadster, especially in the Asian market. Also, the following production transfer will enable KTM to make future expansion with its other brands in Europe. And as for CFMOTO, the brave Chinese venture is going to jump into the uncharted waters in manufacturing the most powerful models of motorcycle that have never been manufactured in China.

The collaboration between the two companies has a long history. In 2011, the two companies first entered into a joint venture, with CFMOTO importing and supplying KTM motorcycles across China. Partnership upgraded in 2014, when CFMOTO began assembling Indian-made 200 and 390 Dukes for sale exclusively in China.
Three years ago, in 2017, the collaboration became closer after the signing of an agreement to establish a joint venture, later known as CFMOTO-KTMR2R, and a ground-breaking ceremony was held for a new manufacturing plant in Hangzhou the next year.
The remarkable new factory that will be completed soon is designed to be nearly 25,000 square feet large with a potential annual capacity of 20.000 motorcycles.
When the plant is brought to steam, Hangzhou will turn into KTM’s third global manufacturing site alongside Mattighofen and Pune.
The factory is where CFMOTO 990/1090 V-twin models will be built alongside KTM’s all-new parallel-twin range powered by the 799cc RCBc motor, followed by all 790 models.
The cooperation between the two companies becomes more intensive due to KTM’s trust in CFMOTO’s manufacture. “We have been very positively impressed by CFMOTO’s quality of manufacture, attention to detail, and engineering capability.” Quoting Florian Burguet, Managing Director of KTM Sportmotorcycle AG, who spoke highly of CFMOTO. “Accordingly, from 2020/21 onwards, we have decided that Hangzhou will host the entire production of KTM’s mid-class models for the global market, with the expectations that our CFMOTO partners will produce up to 50,000 KTM motorcycles per year there.”
The oncoming construction of the new factory will lead both companies to develop a new step in various aspects. For KTM, the models with lower prices that will be manufactured in China onwards will make the company more competitive in the category of global 501-900cc Roadster, especially in the Asian market. Also, the following production transfer will enable KTM to make future expansion with its other brands in Europe. The epidemic Covid-19 becomes pandemic, where Taliban regaining power in Afghanistan will become catalytic endemic in south Asian regional politics. On 29 February 2020.the US-Taliban agreement inked, which started last one year in Doha. From this agreement the US just ensured the guarantee of preventing any further attacks on the US and it's allies by terrorists enjoying safe Haven or support in Afghanistan. Since 18 years of war, the US has suffered 2400 military fatalities. It also spent $ 137 billion in various form of reconstruction aid in Afghanistan. As per the agreement, the US led international force will leave Afghanistan within 14 months.
On the other hand, Taliban gets it's mission accomplished by their aprox 60,000 fulltime fighters. It also substantiated by the US President Donald Trump's briefing, termed Taliban as "Great fighter " and "possibly take over the power ". needles to write, Taliban rewrites the courageous victory against another super power after Britain and Russia (former Soviet Union ) under the present leadership of Haibatullah Akhandzada. Despite the US-Taliban treaty, Al Qaeda(AQ) need not to use Afghan territory as launching pad. AQ has a strong hold in Somalia, Mali, Burkena Faso, Yemen, Syria, Nigeria, Niger, Kenya and they have established a strong foothold in Kashmir.
The emergence of new Afghanistan will change the regional geopolitical scenario. Afghanistan has 1600 miles common border with Pakistan. Pakistan created a tactical relations with Taliban for their internal stability. Talibans are 46% pashtuns of Afghan 35 million where same tribes are 15% of Pakistani 215 million and Taliban has a offshoot Teherik e Taliban Pakistan(TTP) in Pakistan. Talibani signator in US-Taliban agreement, Molla Abdul Ghani Baradar was released by Pakistan government on October 2018 who was arrested by a joint US-Taliban operation in 2010. It is believed that Pakistan will be a very close ally to Taliban.
In my opinion, India's steps are far behind to face the upcoming security threat. National Registration of Citizens(NRC), and Citizens Amendment Act(CAA) should have launched once Mr Trump announced his intention to pull out US troops from Afghanistan. More so India must have a backdoor negotiation with Taliban but India kept it's efforts restless to foil the intra Afghan peace process with the help of Israel. India has a diplomatic and commercial presence in Afghanistan. They also invested billions of dollars in nation building projects to asist Ghani government which is under rated by Trump's administration. Complete lockdown of Kashmir and abrogation of article 370(a) had ignited Kashmiri people which paved the way for AQ activities. AQ need a supportive base in this region to free Taliban for Islamic emerates. No doubt Pakistan is waiting for this situation to unrest it's arch-foe. And Pakistan will play the same tactics as buffer zone for Kashmiri jihadhists, persecuted Muslims inside India, other armed groups and independence aspirants in India. Notwithstanding India's all these steps are very late. They have executed their suppression theory and trying to establish bigoted 'Hindutva' ideology on such a moment when the near Muslim jihadhists are in winning situation. that definitely will be an opportunity for the religious extremist groups.
Bangladesh is a Muslim majority country so the impact of Taliban's victory is very much expected. More so the anti-Indian sentiment may turn into anti-Hindutva for the persecution on Muslims by Bharatiya Janata Party. Bangladeshi people are well aware of India-Israel tie up to suppress Muslim fundamentalists which also is Israel's great concerns. Bangladesh is already bearing millions Rohingya's burden after that it will be a wilddream if not daydream to bear the influx of Muslim refugees from India.
Srilanka had seen the rise of Islamic fundamentalism after the atrocities committed by the Buddhist. Same thing happened in Myanmar and emergence of ARSA as aspirants of independence of Arakan is nothing but an armed group of Muslim fundamentalists. All these religious fundamental groups will get aspirations and moral boost up by Taliban's success.
So, the very complex and entangled situation are ahead in this regional politics which will be dictated by the religious fundamentalism. No doubt high valued words democracy, right to freedom etc, etc are to be shelved in museum.

- Helping elephants starving in Asia due to COVID-19 tourism downturn
- Hundreds of elephants throughout South East Asia are starving as camps, sanctuaries, and shows close due to COVID-19. With no tourists and months ahead of no visitors, many elephants have lost their meal ticket, says Nudplee Hamundee, director of World Elephant Foundation (worldelephantfoundation.com).
The foundation has launched an international campaign ‘Save the Asian Elephant’ to help feed and care for elephants across the Greater Mekong region. “Elephants are one of the invisible and forgotten victims of the pandemic, even though literally they are the biggest victims. These large mammals in elephant shelters and parks in Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos normally rely on tourist revenue, but now need everyone’s support to survive.”
With all Mekong region nations heavily dependent on tourism, the downturn in visitor numbers started mid-January during the normal tourism high-season, causing financial challenges for the elephant owners, herders and carers. Many elephant camps rely on volunteers, using additional funds to further animal welfare, combat smuggling and encourage conservation and habitat restoration, says Mr Hamundee.
“While tourists can postpone their travel to South East Asia, the elephants need to eat. An elephant can eat between 200 and 400 kilograms a day of grass, bamboo and crops, costing around US$12-20 a day, but money is running out to feed and care for these animals.”
Even though elephants are a key attraction throughout South East Asia, he says governments aren’t offering any support. WEF estimates that there are several thousand elephants throughout the region who are going hungry. “If nothing is done, many of these elephants may starve to death. Some could be sold for illegal logging or hard labour, and pregnant females smuggled. The outlook for these smart, social animals is bleak.”
Asian elephant numbers have halved in the last century, with around 20,000 remaining in the wild, and several thousand in captivity in zoos, shows and parks. He says reports from the field suggest that many elephants are showing signs of stress and depression. “We are reaching out to friends of elephants around the world, to those who have visited South East Asia, to help save the Asian elephant during these difficult times.”
WEF has established a registry, encouraging rescue organisations and sanctuaries to notify the WEF of their numbers and needs so a better coordinated approach can be undertaken throughout the Greater Mekong region. The foundation is working in the traditional elephant ‘homeland’ of Surin in northeast Thailand’s Surin. The area, bordering Cambodia, is one of the hardest hit, not just for the elephants but also for the Kui or Kuy hill tribe are the ethnic group who have worked as mahouts and handlers with elephants for centuries in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. Mr Hamundee says the situation is made worse by very little jungle remaining and the dry season which means there isn’t much fresh vegetation for animals to eat, so food has to be purchased from farmers. “They are running out of money, and won’t be able to feed the elephants any more. Unfortunately, in the months to come, we believe there will be another 300 elephants in the region who need our help to survive this year.”
WEF’s initial project is with Supatra Sonsong to provide food and care for 15 elephants, including three babies. “Compassionate friends around the globe can help sponsor an individual elephant.”
Despite the difficulties, Mr Hamundee is optimistic that concerned tourists who have visited South East Asia, as well as those planning to visit after the COVID-19 pandemic is over, will show solidarity not just with fellow humans, but with other mammals sharing the earth. “Our vision is for a world where animals live free from suffering. But it is only by working together we can change the world for animals.”

- Bangladesh army is becoming captive to one alma-meter again
- As Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is stalwartly working to save the nation from a probable upheaval of Covid-19 pandemic, a nexus of top military officers under the leadership of Lt. Gen Mahfuzur Rahman, who currently is the Principal Staff Officer at Armed Forces Division is mutely working with multiple agendas that include, disgrace the current Chief of Army Staff Gen Aziz Ahmed, generate total anarchy within the armed forces, push the country towards a major economic crisis and famine during the period of Covid-19 pandemic, and finally overthrow the current government through a bloodless coup and establish a pseudo-military rule. In the meantime, a number of individuals such as Col Shahid Uddin Khan (a retired officer and a coursemate of Gen Aziz, who has been living in the United Kingdom of self-exile since 2018), David Bergman (a British journalist and son in law of Dr. Kamal Hossain, an opposition politician), Tasneem Khalil (a journalist who took asylum in Sweden in 2008), Pinaki Bhattacharya (a physician who took asylum in France) and few more individuals have already aligned themselves with the nexus of Lt Gen Mahfuz and the nexus are playing various roles with the common goal of discrediting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government to the eyes of the people of Bangladesh and the international community. Sensitive military secrets such as information about army personals being infected with Covid-19 virus or various types of conspiracy theories are being passed to Col Shahid Uddin Khan, David Bergman, Tasneem Khalil and others by the nexus. The recipients are circulating the sensitive information through social media. This nexus of conspirators had earlier circulated a rumor stating Gen Aziz Ahmed had a plan to establish a pseudo-military government by ousting Sheikh Hasina with the support from the United States, China, few local elites and thinktanks. They claim, the Chief of Army Staff, had a plan of creating social disturbance and anarchy in the country thus compelling the Prime Minister in deploying the army, which would bring the entire situation under the grips of the CAS. But though he finally had to step back from this plan, the outbreak of Covid-19 in Bangladesh has opened the prospect to him. It was earlier reported that civil bureaucrats, politicians, social elites and think tanks had meetings, which were coordinated by CIA and the Chinese MSS, where it was decided to topple the government in exchange for lucrative postings and positions once the pseudo-military government would take overpower. There were indications of a few top police officials joining hands with that government. There is also rumor about Gen Aziz’s ambition of becoming the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) by bringing in Lt Gen Shafiuddin into the position of the next Chief of Staff. According to intelligence reports, political forces such as Jatiyo Party, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Inu) etc., already are secretly maintaining contacts with the nexus of Gen Mahfuz. Members of this nexus have already held meetings with Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho (though he later denied this), Dr. Abdul Moin Khan of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Col (Retired) Oli Ahmed, Dr. Jaforullah Chowdhury of Gono Shasthho, Barrister Moinul Hossain, Dr. Debopriya Bhattacharya, and others. Army though is deployed throughout the country, in most cases, they are playing the role of silent spectators, whether it is the case of the loot of relief or people disobeying the lockdown. Bangladesh would not be pushed towards a possible fatality should there be not any chaotic situation centering declaring lockdown and shutting down commercial activities, and again the disturbing episode of bringing in millions of readymade garment workers in crowds into Dhaka city and again forcing them to return. The government was also too late in putting restrictions on mass gathering in mosques in particular, although neighboring India and even countries like Saudi Arabia have done that week back. For Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, it is a herculin task to tackle the Covid-19 situation at this stage, when in particular, the country’s intelligence community and a section of the army are silently on purpose sabotaging her entire efforts. The situation would worsen fast due to the ongoing activities of Lt Gen Mahfuz and his nexus.

- Investor, Tang Dewei Found In Hotel Dead
- Tang Dewei has been found dead in a hotel in Canada by hotel staff. He had told his wife he was checking in to a local hotel for business to meet a client and when he didn't return the next day she alerted staff at the hotel. Tang's body was found when staff entered the room.
Tang was a successful business person around the world and had his own private stock market. However, due to complications from Coronavirus impacting his stock trade sell off, his market came tumbling down resulting in a crash of his private stock market trade. Unable to handle this crash, it is reported that Tang evidently took his own life as hotel staff checked footage and saw that Tang actually did not meet anyone.
Stock markets around the world were in chaos due to Coronavirus and even though Tang had his market set up so investors would make guaranteed money, this sudden plunge in markets around the world resulted in his stock trade falling and crashing resulting in a complete wipe out. Due to many stock markets crashing around the world which Tang was trading with, it resulted in a crash of his own and he was left to take the blame even though Coronavirus effectively wiped out his market and caused the crash which would have resulted in other complications for his future in business around the world.
He had checked in to the hotel under his business name Tang Dewei Investments, perhaps wanting people to know why he took his own life.
