- Back for just the second year ever, Exploring English Whisky is proud to announce that the ENGLISH WHISKY FESTIVAL 2021 will be taking place on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th September (online).
With 6 more distilleries & independent bottlers taking part than last year (20 in total), and an entirely new line-up of products, the two day event promises something special for those returning for their second year, or anyone joining for the first time.
Replicating the same accessible, informative and entertaining format, there will be 6 sessions, as well as entertainment and cocktail making masterclasses in between. Attendees will hear directly from each distillery or bottler as they take us through their product & story, focused on the theme of each session.
11 products in the line-up are completely new releases, some of which won’t be available until after the festival (or available at all as they’re cask samples drawn exclusively for this event). Many of the distilleries are now multi-award winners, including World Whiskies Awards, San Francisco World Spirits Competition, International Spirits Challenge and Icons of Whisky.

Gilroy, CA, June 28, 2021 - The Garlic Festival Golf Classic will be held Friday, July 30th at Gilroy Golf Course, located at 2695 Hecker Pass Highway. The event will include a silent auction and great Garlic Festival food. The Golf Classic is sponsored by Pinnacle Bank. Golfers can sign up for the cause for $150. The Farm-to-Table Dinner will be held from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, July 24th at Fortino Winery, 4525 Hecker Pass Highway in Gilroy. The caterer/chef for the dinner will be Relish Kitchen & Drink, featuring Executive Chef Diane Sturla. The Farm-to-Table is sponsored by Pinnacle Bank and Mission Valley Ford. The cost for the dinner is $175 per person.
Drive-thru, which will be held on the weekends of July 23rd, 24th, and 25th, and July 30th, 31st, and Aug. 1st, at Gilroy Presbyterian Church, located at 6000 Miller Ave., you can reserve your Drive-Thru order starting July 1.

- North Carolina-based author Cori Nevruz gets interviewed by the CSMS Magazine. The host, Ardain Isma, had an exciting conversation with Cori, who lives in Wilmington, a city on the North Carolina coastline.
Cori is publishing her debut novel titled Dirty Laundry in July, which was the topic of the conversation. It is a story full of suspense, depicting the life of Samantha, a suburban housewife who finds herself fighting on multiple fronts: anxiety, jealousy, and an overbearing husband who expects the most from her. The bar has been set high for Samantha because her husband wants a fashionable wife who can keep a spotless home, prepare nice meals, and take care of children, to name a few. Her mounting problems and her inability to rise to her husband’s expectations have led her to the dark alley of depression. Feeling besieged, Samantha reveals her “dirty laundry” to a friend. So, the story unfolds…
As fiction foreshadows reality, Cori admits part of her fictional story reflects her own story, as she has “struggled with depression and anxiety, and [she knows] how important it is to address that.” Cori is herself a mother, and like many parents, the stress of raising children can be overwhelming.
Dr. Isma says it was a privilege to sit down for such an enjoyable conversation. “Cori Nevruz is a writer who speaks and writes from the heart, Dirty Laundry is character-driven, and once you start reading it, you won’t let go until the very last word,” he said commented.

The program is looking for outstanding projects and ideas in the fields of film, art, VR/XR and games.
After the call closes on 15 July 2021, a jury of experts will choose 25 international young professionals and their audiovisual project ideas. From 16 to 19 October 2021, these winners will be invited to an online mentoring and conference program.
All mentors are renowned professionals from the audiovisual creative industries. Internationally established funders, financiers and professionals from the media and creative industries will participate in the conference program teaching master classes, workshops, hosting think tanks, one-on-one meetings and networking events.
