LOGICA DEPLOYS THE WORLD’S FIRST SMS PRODUCT FOR 3G NETWORKS IN JAPAN

20th February 2001, Cannes, France - Logica has announced today that it deployed its first SMS product built to support Japan’s 3G networks.
For the past 16 months Logica has been collaborating with NEC for the production of SMS products for Japan's 3G market. Last year it received the orders for the first systems and shipped its first SMS product.
Logica Japan’s President, Hideo Ikeda, commented “Our messaging systems for 3G are scheduled to be placed in live service during this year. Japan has always proved to be an important proving ground for Logica's technology. Our relationship with NEC and the Japanese operator community provides us with a strategic advantage in being first to market with live deployments of advanced new multi-media-focused products.”
