ACTUATE MAKES FOUR KEY APPOINTMENTS AS GROWTH CONTINUES
Expanding Actuate opens new City of London office for financial community
12 December, 2000 — Actuate UK, the information delivery market leader, has made four key appointments to drive its continued expansion: Graham Jones has been appointed sales director; Russell Arrowsmith is to occupy the new position of Business Development Manager; Brett Gribble has been appointed sales development manager; and Ceri Jones has been made Actuate UK’s new marketing manager. The new positions strengthen the team at Actuate UK’s Bracknell HQ and consolidate the UK’s position as the fastest-growing international branch of the global provider of e.Reporting solutions. Actuate’s fast expansion this year is exemplified by the opening of a new office in the City of London to cater for the specialised needs of its growing customer base in the financial community.
Graham Jones has been appointed to the position of sales director, where he will be responsible for expanding the sales team. He comes to Actuate from consultancy at Walldata, where he developed a new team to launch its portal product in the UK. Before Walldata, Graham set up Attachmate, which he grew from 4 staff in 1990 to 65 staff and $27 million in revenue by the time he left in 1996.
Russell Arrowsmith has been appointed to the new position of business development manager, in which he will be responsible for managing Actuate UK’s partner relationships for the purpose of creating new business. Actuate UK’s partners include BMC, White Light, Acta, Siebel, PeopleSoft and PwC. Russell has been in involved with selling software solutions to the carrier market through channel partners, and has been the telco sales manager for a global supplier of network performance and service level management service solutions.

Brett Gribble, Actuate’s new sales development manager, has moved to Actuate from the consultancy sphere. For the last two years he has been advising a number of direct marketing companies running projects for IBM and Oracle, and also directly consulting for companies running integrated direct and web-based marketing campaigns.
Ceri Jones is responsible for strategy and execution of marketing in the UK and Ireland. He joins Actuate from C-bridge, a NASDAQ-listed e-services supplier specialising in e-business strategy, education, web applications development and implementation. As C-bridge’s director of marketing EMEA, he was responsible for launching the company in Europe, brand building, marketing strategy and marketing communications. Ceri has 18 years’ experience working in marketing, 10 of them in IT companies such as Syntegra, Oracle and Industri-Matematik.
