Pressbox (Press Release) - Women Footballers Looking Good for European Success
England's women footballers are on the brink of enjoying their biggest success in years. If, as expected, England's women win their European Championship qualifier next Tuesday, it will cap a meteoric rise for the women's game over the past 12 months.
As The Football Association's Chief Executive, Adam Crozier, promotes his plans for a professional women's football league, the players are already beginning to enjoy the star treatment.
Rachel Yankey* can already brag of her cover girl status and she was recently joined by her England team mates, Katie Chapman* and Marieanne Spacey* at a photo shoot for On the Ball, the women's football magazine.
The girls were treated like celebrities with a total makeover, taking them from tracksuit to designer-wear before modelling for top fashion photographer, Alan Shutt.
The photo shoot was staged to mark On the Ball's own move into the big league following its acquisition by Non League Media plc and to celebrate England's imminent qualification for next year's European Championship Finals.
