Local Estate Agents Greenaway Residential based in East Grinstead, West Sussex, whenever it can likes to help great causes in the community. Usually this is done via the company’s own charity the Greenaway Foundation which was founded to provide local community support. The Greenaway Foundation donates to families, for the purpose of alleviating some financial pressures, to bring joy and engage community spirit.
Following the successful rehabilitation of a wild buzzard rescued by two estate agents, Greenaway Residential donated £250 to the charity Wildlife A&E.
The common buzzard was found on the roadside near West Hoathly, West Sussex, following a house viewing in the village. Using patience and a suit jacket, the two Greenaway Residential estate agents were able to collect the buzzard and drive it to Medivets in Forest Row.
At 400g the buzzard weighed less than half the healthy weight so Wildlife A&E were contacted to collect the native rapture bird and try to nurse it back to health. After two weeks of care the buzzard reached the target weight of 900g and was able to be released back into the wild near the Ashdown Forest.
“We are so lucky to be surrounded by areas of beauty like the Ashdown Forest & I’m very proud of our team members who showed such compassion. It’s a joy to know this buzzard is now healthy and back in the wild where it belongs. We expected a bill for the buzzard’s care but neither Medivets or Wildlife A&E asked for anything towards this rescue so we wanted to donate £250 to help towards the continued care of our local wildlife in need. Due to Covid19 The Wildlife A&E has had to cancel many of the events which help raise money and we just wanted to help them in some way.” Said Darren Greenaway, Managing Director of Greenaway Residential Estate Agents.
Wildlife A&E is a not for profit organisation covering Sussex, Surrey and Kent areas. They hand rear orphaned young as well as rescuing and caring for all local wildlife in need, from deer to buzzards, with the aim of releasing the animals back into the wild.

About Greenaway Foundation
The Greenaway Foundation was set up in 2012 by Darren Greenaway, owner of Greenaway Residential Estate Agents.
Greenaway Foundation supports the local community and financially challenged families who ‘fly under the radar’ of receiving official support.
Families are identified through local schools, council bodies and other charities. The type of support offered includes buying school uniforms, providing food or travel.
Greenaway Foundation believes in the importance of happy childhood memories: Each year the Greenaway Foundation Christmas drive seeks to provide a Christmas meal to hundreds of families and a gift to children who may not otherwise receive one.
Greenaway Foundation also works with community groups and clubs to ensure they are accessible to those who need them.
