NEW DIRECTOR REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO TENANTS

Eastleigh Housing Association・s new Services Director Pat Shelley has highlighted the increasingly important role tenants have in developing service delivery.
Pat, who has been seconded from South Wight Housing Association, says he is keen to get started in an organisation where :residents want to, and do, play a meaningful role in developing the future.;

With over 20 years in the housing industry, Pat started his career as rent collector in Gloucestershire and has since worked in a number of housing organisations in London, Liverpool, Bristol, Reading and more recently on the Isle of Wight.
Also strengthening Atlantic Housing Group・s service to tenants is Simon Woodcock, the new Tenant Participation Worker. He joins the Group from Winchester Area Community Action where he managed a community project to support and promote voluntary action in rural areas.

Previously as community worker at Heather Road Residents Association in Fawley he developed and set up over 30 community projects, including holiday play schemes, advice drop-ins and computer resource facilities. He has also worked with a number of Residents Associations and Tenant groups in the New Forest where he lives with his wife and five children.

:I have first hand experience of renting as a council tenant myself,; said Simon, :and I・m really looking forward to getting to know and helping as many tenants as possible, to ensure everyone has a say in the running of the association.;
