--IP Service Delivery, Access Concentration and IP Gateways Bolster Offering--
Friday 14th September, 2001 – Ericsson Enterprise today announced its latest IP-centric solutions aimed at Enterprise customers looking for fully integrated business solutions. The solutions which include the AXC 470, AXC 475 and an enhanced WebSwitch 2000, are designed to enable enterprises to fully embrace the move toward packet-based networking for all communications traffic.
The AXC 470 and AXC 475 are high performance multifunction IP platforms designed to meet the needs of today’s enterprise networks. Incorporating high capacity routing functionality, remote access concentration and IP service delivery the AXC 470 and AXC 475 are ideal solutions for small medium enterprises, distributed campuses and remote branch offices that need inter-office connectivity, corporate network access and Internet access. Furthermore the AXC 470 and AXC 475 offer a secure and robust Virtual Private Network (VPN) and private IP solution for enterprise customers, meeting VPN, firewall/security, Internet access and IP network requirements for enterprise data communications access.
The WebSwitch 2000 is an IP-PBX and Voice over IP gateway that bridges traditional circuit-switched telephony and next generation packet-based IP telephony. A feature-rich communications platform, the WebSwitch 2000 integrates voice, data and wireless applications into a single communications infrastructure enabling businesses to migrate to a single network solution for all communications traffic. For small to medium enterprises the WebSwitch 2000 offers a cost-effective migration strategy into Voice over IP whilst protecting their existing PBX investment.
Commenting on the announcements, Olof Aurell, Vice President, Ericsson Enterprise, Western Europe, said, “In today’s competitive markets, enterprises are continually looking for communications solutions that meet their business requirements. The Internet has become a pervasive business tool, applications are becoming more portable and the workforce is becoming increasingly mobile. The challenge enterprises now face is building a communications infrastructure to incorporate a distributed workforce and deliver applications to them wherever they may be. At Ericsson we recognise this challenge and with products such as the WebSwitch 2000, AXC 470 and AXC 475 we are able to deliver the solutions they need.
