One-stop site for surfing seniors
Fifty-somethings fed up with finding quantity on the internet when what
they want is quality now have a one-stop website.
www.cennet.co.uk has been designed by the over 50s for the over 50s. And
its classy colour supplement style will come as a refreshing change from the
flashing lights format of many addresses.
CenNet has been created by Leicestershire-based Kevin Scott and his wife Christine.
Articles are changed every month in eight sections: Entertainment; Travel;
Money; Shopping; Well Being; Food & Drink; Pastimes; and Shopping. There
are links to hundreds of other vetted sites which may be of interest (like
theatre bookings) and lots of interactive sections (like recipe exchanges).
Contributing experts include nationally-known wine journalist Tom Cannavan.
The over 50s are the fastest-growing demographic group using the
internet - the so-called silver surfers.
They want quality of information not quantity and CenNet is geared
specifically to their needs. If the information they want isn't included, there will be a link so they don't have to trawl through dozens of sites looking.
Being seniors ourselves I hope we have second-guessed what they want to know before they've even thought of it themselves.
When I turned 50 I felt there was gap in the market for an informative
online magazine. You could say this was my senior moment!
