Pressbox (Press Release) - Press Release

February 2002

ASL Environmental Sciences of Sidney, BC Canada has received an order from the Geological Survey of Canada (Pacific Geoscience Centre), for the provision of a custom sediment transport measurement system for deployment in the Fraser River delta foreslope area of the Strait of Georgia. This represents one of the components of the Georgia Basin Geohazards Initiative.

This system will use a combination of off-the-shelf and custom elements to measure waves, currents, optical backscatter and sea bottom imaging, all assembled in a custom frame.

ASL will design the frame as well as a custom data logging and control module for the Imagenex scanning sonar instrument.

In addition ASL will deploy the system on site in late February for a first round of data collection in March.
