Pressbox (Press Release) -
mCentric, the Madrid-based software infrastructure provider serving the Mobile and Multi-Access Internet industry, is hailing its meCommunities product a success.
Integrated within its Black Widow platform, mCentric has seen its meCommunities solution successfully incorporated into Qtal! – a hugely successful community-based service recently launched by Airtel, a leading Spanish Telecommunications Operator. Qtal! is allegedly reporting growth rates in excess of 2000 new clients per day.
The service allows Airtel’s customers to flexibly define communities, typically friends or work colleagues, within which discounted call and SMS charges are available. Additionally, the community members benefit from services like short-code dialing, one-to-one or one-to-many SMS and chat.
mCentric predicts that the meCommunities concept will grow to incorporate more services developed using Black Widow, all of which bring the benefits of increased airtime, subscriber growth and churn reduction.
The Qtal! implementation demonstrates the versatility of mCentric’s Black Widow platform where its Application Creation environment has been used in conjunction the platform’s deep feature set and its integration capabilities such as LDAP, IN-Prepaid, SMS and subscriber database registers.
Speaking about the success, mCentric´s head of Marketing and Business Development, Dem Eleso said:
“Black Widow and its meCommunities solution have proved to be a crucial ingredient in Qtal!’s success. Airtel saw the potential of mCentric and its products very early on and is now benefiting from its foresight. Airtel sees huge potential in the Mobile and Multi-Access Internet marketplace and we are excited because Airtel sees mCentric as a fundamental component in realising their vision of the future. With the Black Widow platform, Airtel is in a position to grow Qtal! in any way”.
