News International Commercial appoints Neil Jones to new role of Director of Commercial Strategy

News International Commercial has completed its senior line-up with the star hiring of Carat UK’s managing director Neil Jones to the new role of Director of Commercial Strategy across all News International’s key brands.
He joins NI Commercial in April with a brief to evaluate News International’s deep strategic relations with all its commercial customers in the UK, including advertisers, agencies and potential partners. He is also charged with examining the market to identify new and alternative streams of revenue and better working methods in a period of rapid change in media, marketing and the economy.
The move completes the top management line-up at NI Commercial, instigated by managing director Paul Hayes. Jones will sit on a management board reporting into Hayes comprising: Dominic Carter, trading director; Claire Myserscough, business intelligence director; newly-appointed Abba Newbery, creative solutions director; Alex Hole, digital trading director; David German, classified sales director and Patricia Kill, sales support director.
NI Commercial represents all News International’s UK media power brands in both their print and online forms: The Sun, News of the World, The Times, The Sunday Times and thelondonpaper.
Hayes commented: “Neil will be reviewing all our relationships with key customers and partners to drive greater efficiencies with agencies and to develop new and more innovative business relationships direct with client firms.
