e2 Communications, a specialist provider of permission-based email marketing solutions, today released details of a new contract to supply its flagship product, e2 Mail Center™, to the British Standards Institution (BSI), the world leader in standards and quality management services.

Operating as an application service provider (ASP), e2 Communications will host all of the hardware and software required to support the initiative – including a secure database server and the systems required for automated data capture and message fulfilment. The new system is intended to enhance the speed and efficiency of the BSI’s business to business communications.

By administering internationally recognised certification schemes and conducting independent quality assurance audits, the BSI’s primary function is to help its customers to demonstrate their production quality and service performance. BSI is active in over 90 countries and, is the world’s largest ISO 9000 registrar.

The BSI’s aim in using e2 Mail Center is to communicate with its customers, providing valuable help and information. Because e2 Mail Center operates solely on an opt-in permission-based approach, the information is only sent to a receptive audience and is more likely to receive a favourable response.

As a test of the new system, the BSI sent out a generic email announcing the launch of the email enquiry service. Accompanied by an electronic registration form, this first email generated an overall response exceeding 45%. Subsequent campaigns have resulted in response rates in excess of 60%.

Commenting on these results, Jeff Barnes, Vice President of e2 Communications, Europe, stated, “We are delighted with the initial response. When you compare these results to traditional marketing techniques, such as direct mail or telemarketing - that typically achieve a response rate of approximately 1-3%, you can really see the benefits of the permission-based approach.”

Punit Shah, e-Business Development Manager at BSI (whose website can be found at www.bsi-global.com) commented that the decision to work with e2 Communications was very straightforward. “To us, e2 appeared to be the obvious choice: they were very enthusiastic to work with us and had a good track record in delivering the service to other clients. With their advice and support we developed communications which genuinely added value to our customers and resulted in strong and positive responses.”

About e2 Mail Center™
e2 Mail Center is designed with the non-technical marketing or sales manager in mind and allows them to create and administer their own email marketing campaign from the desktop. Easily configured via any web browser to deliver targeted messages to individual customers, the system’s automatic e-mail response settings and associated message sequencing capabilities can be as simple or as complex as the campaign requires. As a profiling tool, the system can take into consideration factors such as: a web user’s demonstrated preferences; purchasing history; browsing behaviour; and responses to on-line forms.

Adaptive Sequenced Messaging Capabilities
e2 Communications’ patent-pending Adaptive Sequenced Messaging (ASM) software allows companies to create multi-step messaging campaigns that adapt and change based on users’ interests and behaviour. ASM enables companies to send relevant, targeted information to each subscriber, thereby developing true one-to-one relationships with prospects and customers.
