The British Standards Institution strengthens its customer relationships with Permission-Based Email Marketing Communications

Operating as an application service provider (ASP), e2 Communications will host all of the hardware and software required to support the initiative – including a secure database server and the systems required for automated data capture and message fulfilment. The new system is intended to enhance the speed and efficiency of the BSI’s business to business communications.

The BSI’s aim in using e2 Mail Center is to communicate with its customers, providing valuable help and information. Because e2 Mail Center operates solely on an opt-in permission-based approach, the information is only sent to a receptive audience and is more likely to receive a favourable response.

As a test of the new system, the BSI sent out a generic email announcing the launch of the email enquiry service. Accompanied by an electronic registration form, this first email generated an overall response exceeding 45%. Subsequent campaigns have resulted in response rates in excess of 60%.
