Nickelodeon UK Announces Cinema Campaign Worth £80,000

Added: (Fri Nov 24 2000)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Starting from December 1st 2000 and running through February 2001 kids watching The Grinch, 102 Dalmatians, and Pokemon II will be able to see an advert for Nickelodeon UK.

The spots will be running in 300 cinemas, through Pearl and Dean, across the UK and the campaign is worth £80,000.

Naomi Dearsley, Marketing Manager Nickelodeon UK said:

"The advert is taken from our successful fourth quarter campaign. It's great because it means that Nick UK's awareness is still uppermost in kid's minds throughout December, when we've got some great Christmas programming on and into next year when we'll be transmitting new episodes of Renford Rejects, BAFTA award winner Nick News and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The whole campaign was based around letting nothing come between you and Nickelodeon. The spot we'll be transmitting in cinemas shows a girl in her room as her alarm clock goes off. She switches it off and snuggles down ready for a lie-in. We then hear her mom's voice telling her to get up, or you'll miss Nickelodeon. From then on it's a mad rush for the girl to get ready and dressed. The final shot cuts to her feet to reveal she's wearing odd shoes, so the strapline is. Don't let anything come between you and Nickelodeon, not even odd shoes.

Nickelodeon's entire fourth quarter campaign, including the cinema advert was created in house and directed by Paul Wilkinson.
