London, 22nd May 2001 - - - Access Conferences International announces its 2nd Fulfilment event for those involved in the physical delivery of goods across multi-channel retail outlets. The two-day conference will be held at The Dorchester Hotel, London on the 18th and 19th July 2001.

A distinguished panel of speakers from top traditional high street stores, catalogue and home shopping plus online retailers, Mothercare Direct, Boots Internet Ventures, The Fresh Food Company, WHSmith, Sainsbury’s Supermarkets, Gadgetshop.com among other experts will examine the difficulties faced by the industry in getting goods delivered to consumers in tact and on time.

Highlights of the conference include a presentation from Charles Poirier, author of many supply chain publications, including the recently published E-Supply Chain book, who will be discussing e-fulfilment for both clicks and mortar retailers plus a case study by M-Box and Kingfisher Group on how to overcome challenges in actual physical delivery goods. There will also be new findings from The Henley Centre on consumer purchasing trends across multi-channels.

There is a battle between pure-play Dotcom’s and more traditional companies as to who is providing the best service. As some of the companies speaking are providing a delivery service across all the channels, their expertise is perhaps the most valuable to fulfilment controllers, customer service directors, home shopping specialists and distribution managers who need an answer to the fundamental question, is the high cost of delivery from mouse to house economically viable in the medium or long-term?
