jeTECH DATA SYSTEMS Chooses Exodus for Server Hosting and Management

Added: (Fri Nov 19 1999)

Pressbox (Press Release) - CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 1999--jeTECH DATA SYSTEMS INC. today announced that it has selected Exodus Communications(TM) Inc. (Nasdaq:EXDS - news), a leader in complex Internet hosting and managed services, to provide Internet server hosting and management for elabor.com(TM), jeTECH's Application Service Provider (ASP) solution.

jeTECH is the technology leader in supplying labor resource planning (LRP) solutions for efficient labor management, time and attendance monitoring, resource scheduling, and project management through its Web business portal, elabor.com(TM), in a hosted (ASP) or standard license scenario.

elabor.com(TM) is the only Internet- and telephone-enabled labor resource planning system on the market. It includes robust tools for labor management, time and attendance monitoring, and employee self-services. Until now, acquiring a world-class LRP system has required a major investment, and the larger corporations able to afford such systems have enjoyed substantial competitive advantages by significantly reducing their workforce management expenditures.

Outsourcing through elabor.com(TM) offers a powerful alternative to the traditional licensing and implementation of enterprise software. By working with Exodus Communications, jeTECH can make its elabor.com(TM) solutions available to organizations of any size for a predictable monthly fee, hosted in a safe, secure, state-of-the-art Exodus Internet Data Center (IDC). In contrast to the typical 6- to 9-month implementations required for purchased solutions, elabor.com(TM) can be fully implemented and operational in just a few weeks.

Outsourcing through the Application Service Provider (ASP) model frees organizations not only from the burden of acquiring and maintaining expensive network infrastructures, but also from the need to hire additional IT staff.

"We chose Exodus(TM) because of the firm's stellar reputation for providing state-of-the-art IDC facilities that offer the highest level of data security, application availability, network performance and redundancy for business-critical solutions like elabor.com," said jeTECH DATA SYSTEMS President and CEO Michael Edell. "Over the next 12 to 18 months, we anticipate expanding our relationship with Exodus to utilize its other Internet Data Centers across the country."

"We are pleased to welcome jeTECH DATA SYSTEMS solutions as an Exodus customer," said Ellen M. Hancock, president and CEO of Exodus. "Outsourcing with Exodus means that elabor.com customers can focus on growing their business, not worry about IT."

Two elabor.com(TM) services are available in Q4 1999:

elabor Labor Management(TM) -- an offering that automates all labor management processes from punch-to-payroll. It offers centralized time and attendance, powerful supervisory timecard approval and resource scheduling features, and built-in processes for applying rules that ensure compliance with complex company, state and union policies and regulations. The system exchanges data with most payroll, human resource and ERP systems, including ADP (NYSE:AUD - news), SAP (NYSE:SAP - news), PeopleSoft (Nasdaq:PSFT - news), ProBusiness (Nasdaq:PRBZ - news) and Dun & Bradstreet (NYSE:DNB - news).
elabor Attendance Management(TM) -- an automated system for reporting absences or tardy occurrences that is available around-the-clock using any Internet-enabled PC or telephone. It allows employees to conveniently call in as soon as they know they'll be late or absent, providing them with a confirmation of the transaction. The information is immediately communicated to supervisors, HR and payroll staff, allowing faster responsiveness to resource unavailability, and substantially reducing errors and overpayments.
