Shop Online 1-2-3 TV Show Helps Online Shoppers

Online shoppers intimidated by the vast array of Internet choices this holiday season or concerned about security while they shop will find lots of useful tips, guidelines and recommendations by watching Shop Online 1-2-3, a television program airing on the 12 Meredith Broadcasting Group television stations at various times during the next two weeks. The half-hour broadcast will debut Thanksgiving weekend, just as the busiest shopping season of the year begins.

"Shop Online 1-2-3 offers many of the same great consumer services you'll find on the Shop Online 1-2-3 Web site," said Broadcasting Group President John Loughlin. "In addition to providing general guidelines for quick, safe holiday shopping online, the program previews 25 retailers hand-picked and rated in areas such as pricing and service."

The television show was created exclusively for Meredith's 12 television stations, which reach nearly 10 percent of television households across the continental United States. They include WGNX-TV (CBS) Atlanta; KPHO-TV (CBS), Phoenix, Ariz.; WOFL-TV (FOX), Orlando, Fla.; KPDX-TV (FOX), Portland, Ore.; WFSB-TV (CBS), Hartford-New Haven, Conn.; WSMV-TV (NBC), Nashville, Tenn.; KCTV (CBS), Kansas City, Mo.; WHNS-TV (FOX), Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, SC-Asheville, N.C.; KVVU-TV (FOX), Las Vegas, Nev.; WNEM-TV (CBS), Flint-Saginaw, Mich.; WOGX-TV (FOX), Ocala-Gainesville, Fla.; and KFXO-LP (FOX), Bend, Ore.

The program also will be available by streaming video on each station's Web site from Dec. 6 through Dec. 31, 1999.
