Choices: You Make ‘em You Own ‘em
The Jerry Tillinghast Story
Available for Interview Author Joe Broadmeadow and Jerry Tillinghast
Choices: You Make ‘em You Own ‘em, the life story of Jerry Tillinghast. Jerry’s name is synonymous with the heyday of organized crime in Rhode Island. In particular, the reign of Raymond L.S. Patriarca.
The Book chronicles the path Jerry took the led him to be one of the most feared men in Patriarca’s organization. It addresses the question of how an Irish American from south Providence RI rose to a position within an organization dominated and controlled by Italian Americans.
The book discusses Jerry’s path from combat in Vietnam to his acquittal in the Bonded Vault Robbery to his conviction for the murder of George Basmajian and his serving thirty years in prison for that murder.
The book also reveals, for the first time in Jerry’s own words, what happened that night of November 30, 1978 and how an innocent man was convicted for a crime he did not commit.
That man was not Jerry Tillinghast, who fully admits to his participation in the crime, but his brother Harold who was a pawn in the game of the fervor to dismantle organized crime.
