MEXICO NETWORK [DECEMBER 25, 2001] -- Three of Mexico's most important
content providers -- Mexico Connect, Mexicanwave and Planeta.com --
announce a unique collaboration that spans the globe and focuses attention
squarely on Mexico.

The newly launched Mexico Network will provide an in-depth look at Mexico,
not only as a destination but as a nation which holds an important place in
world economy and culture. While retaining their own distinct identities,
the three member websites will work together to promote key themes of
Education, Journalism and Travel. The Mexico Network will support efforts
which "bridge the digital divide," thereby contributing to a better
understanding of Mexico.

The three founding websites of The Mexico Network are some of the most well
established and most popular English-language portals. Planeta.com debuted
in 1995 and has won numerous awards, including the first "Lente de Plata"
presented to a website by SECTUR, Mexico's tourism secretariat.
Award-winning Mexico Connect began in 1996 and is a favored hub for the
foreign expat community in Mexico. "Mexicanwave launched in 2000 and was
recently voted one of the "Top 10 Cool Travel Sites" by The Sunday Times
(London)."

All three websites will cross-reference each other's content, share future
plans, exchange skills and determine how best to build on their business
relationships for mutual benefit.

Steve Bridger, Director of UK-based Mexicanwave, describes the new venture
as a significant commitment: "We already share a deep passion for Mexico,so
it seems sensible to work together to see if we can deliver an even better
service to our readership. To our knowledge it is unique for websites to
collaborate in this way."

"There is a clear hunger for quality information about Mexico," notes David
McLaughlin, director of Mexico-based Mexico Connect. "Our combined monthly
readership is currently approaching 1,000,000. The numbers are going up!
People want to learn all they can about Mexico."

"The Web is definitely taking off in Mexico," states Ron Mader, Director of
Planeta.com operations in both Mexico and the United States. "One of the
goals of The Mexico Network is to support efforts which train professionals
in Mexico on how to use the Web more effectively."

The Mexico Network will also harness the Internet to consolidate online
information resources for education, and support the efforts of Mexican
teachers and students to communicate with their peers around the globe.

** STATE PROFILES **

A key target audience are Media and Travel Professionals who have made the
member websites popular. The first coordinated project of The Mexico Network
will be the distribution of State Profiles, beginning with Oaxaca, Veracruz
and Colima.

State and Regional Profiles include links to recommended online resources
and up-to-date contact information for tourism professionals. Oaxaca Profile
will be distributed on January 21th, 2002. Subsequent profiles will be
delivered monthly.

"We've been linking to each other's websites for several years, but never in
such a coordinated fashion," said Ron Mader. "Collaboration insures that
our information is more accurate and benefits everyone."
