UK COMPANY EXPORTS MOBILE FUN IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS

Pressbox (Press Release) -
Have you got your favourite image imprinted on your mobile phone? Well, thousands of Italians will have this Christmas thanks to British company, ICI Imagedata who identified an opportunity overseas and exploited it with the help from the Trade Partners UK team at its local Business Link in Ipswich.
Trade Partners UK - the government organisation that provides support services for UK companies trading overseas – worked with sales director Graham Broughton in targeting the Italian market as the largest European market for mobile phone accessories. The objective then became to launch the company’s new mobile phone personalisation system in time for Christmas. To date, ICI Imagedata has received £200,000 pounds worth of orders from Italy, with a further £1.4million expected early next year.
Explained Mr Broughton, “We set a challenging deadline, but within weeks the team sourced suitable business partners. Trade Partners UK supported us during several negotiations such as appointing a sales partner. We then exhibited at an IT and Telecom fair on their recommendation and this it where we began picking up the business.”
The company sent its first shipment out to Italy in December and expects more to follow in the New Year. ICI Imagedata developed the process of printing individual images on the back of mobile phones using technology developed by MiCyte. It applies a combination of polymer coatings and a controlled heat process to ‘embed’ images so that they are scratch resistant. This process is a result of ICI Imagedata’s multi million pound research and development investment into dye-sublimation.
Consumers from the UK wishing to purchase a mobile phone with their favourite image can obtain one from any Carphone Warehouse or Vodafone retail outlet.
