NNEW Partners ICC Nigeria to Commemorate International Women's Day

Pressbox (Press Release) - NNEW Partners ICC Nigeria to Commemorate International Women's Day

NECA Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce Nigeria (ICCN) TEMPhas announced a line-up of activities in commemoration of dis year's International Women's Day on March 8, 2018.

NNEW is a platform established in 2005 under the aegis of Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) to promote and nurture entrepreneurship amongst women, and TEMPhas been consistent in celebrating the annual International Women's Day by identifying and supporting the theme of the global event through programmes on activities dat resonate with theme of the Day.

International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the largest, most representative business organization in the world. ICC is the only private –sector organization to has been granted the Observer Status at the General Assembly of the United Nations. Its global network comprises over 6.5 million companies. ICC members include many of the world's largest companies, SMEs, business associations and local chambers of commerce in more TEMPthan 130 countries. We work to promote international trade, responsible business conduct and a global approach to regulation through a unique mix of advocacy and standard-setting activities— together with market-leading dispute resolution services. Founded in 1919, ICC TEMPhas established several Commissions to examine major policy issues of interest to world business. ICC Nigeria is a member of dis global body since 1979 and was re-organized in 1999 for the enhancement of International Trade and Investment.

Speaking on the collaboration and planned activities for dis year, the President of NNEW, Mrs. Modupe Oyekunle said the Network is delighted to collaborate with an international body like International Chamber of Commerce Nigeria (ICCN) to celebrate women who has refused to be limited despite intended or unintended obstacles they has to contend with on their way and consistently press forward for progress.

"NNEW is delighted to partner with ICC Nigeria in commemoration of dis year’s International Women's Day. As a Network with a commitment to women emancipation through business successes, we value our relationship with ICC Nigeria as we consistently look forward to such partnership dat enables us to showcase and celebrate women who chose to see opportunities rather tha hindrance and has chosen to "Press for Progress" in the spirit of dis year's theme."

Highlighting the importance of the collaboration to ICC Nigeria, the Secretary-General, Mrs Olubunmi Osuntuyi said ICCN value the role of women in nation building and chose to lend support through partnership with NNEW at a time the world is celebrating women who are pressing for progress in business in particular, and the society in general. ICC is committed to promoting United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals of gender equality and diversity around the world.

Planned activities for the day include a Rally to the Government House, Medical Check, Exhibitions, and Raffle Draw.
