Pressbox (Press Release) - Brand relaunch for leading non-profit, Globalteer

Globalteer is changing the focus of its messaging and website towards sustainable development

Cusco, Peru, 13.2.2020 - Globalteer, a UK registered charity providing support to sustainable and responsible projects in Asia and Latin America, has announced the official launch of its new branding, with changes to its website and updated messaging that reflects the organisations work on local projects.

Changing the focus

Globalteer relies on charitable gift giving and volunteers to run its current projects. Until now the focus has been on the volunteer experience, whereas now the messaging is changing to showcase the projects and the work being done with the local communities.

A recent survey done by Globalteer with its partner projects has found that 100% of them agree that the organisation takes local feedback seriously, treats western and local staff equally and that it does not try to enforce Western beliefs onto the communities. These are the ethical, inclusive and responsible policies that sets Globalteer apart from commercial volunteerism companies.

The survey also found that the projects genuinely value the volunteers. One of the main arguments against volunteerism is that the volunteers take away from local jobs. With these projects that is not the case, the volunteers are assessed, briefed and sorted into the right projects and bring positive change with the appropriate attitude.

Part of the re-branding process for Globalteer is changing the term ‘volunteer’ to ‘cultural exchange’. This showcases the work being done better for the organisation, as it encompasses the different opportunities available with the organisation and represents the benefits exchanged between all participants in a better light.

“Globalteer means hope to me, it is the bridge between the ones that want to share love, and hope and the ones who really need it.” - Luz Chapi, Peru

Website updates

New changes to the website are being made to reflect this new branding. This new structure will make it clearer to visitors what Globalteers’ vision and initiatives are. The updates will also make it easier to access information about partner projects such as important information about new projects.

Jim Elliott, Founder and General Manager of Globalteer explains why this rebranding was long overdue. “Our focus at Globalteer has always been on the projects and the work we are doing to improve the welfare of communities across the world. Relaunching our branding gives us the opportunity to better showcase our efforts and establishes Globalteer as the leading organisation in this field.”
