Substance Rehabilitation: An outline of In-Patient Addiction Treatment for Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Added: (Wed Jan 30 2019)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Liverpool, UK – Drug and Alcohol dependency is widely recognised as a disease whereby addicted persons continue to abuse substances despite harmful consequences. Prolonged use causes extensive chemical changes in the brain drastically altering behaviours and frequently rendering users unable to operate effectively without a given substance.

According to the Director of http://www.substancerehabilitation.com/, Fenella Price, “The chronic nature of the disease makes it difficult, but not impossible to combat. Once an addicts brain has been ‘rewired’ through ongoing dependence, sustained treatment is required to ‘arrest’ the condition, alleviate physical symptoms and prevent relapse.”

Substance Rehabilitation operates with a professional network of Treatment Centres across the UK and Ireland to provide professional, tailored rehabilitation programs for dependence on a whole range of substance abuse.

Fenella said, “In our experience individuals who are suffering with drug and alcohol dependency issues are only receptive to assistance in the form of treatment for very short periods of time. By utilising the services of Substance Rehabilitation, we can provide a number of options based on location, cost and exact nature of therapy to enable a rapid admission to life saving therapy.”

Fenella further said, “Our clinics provide a Detoxification and Rehabilitation Service structured around a personal treatment plan. This plan will be created following evaluation and is based on patient’s physical and mental health and history of substance abuse prior to arrival. This plan may include medication to assists with initial physical withdrawal symptoms.”

Treatment will consist of three primary stages – Medical Detoxification, Rehabilitation and Aftercare – providing the best possible opportunity to remain free of addiction. Essentially this process serves to separate the individual from substance(s), educates and investigates the nature of the illness and maintains this state through a structured program of recovery.

Specific treatments during the rehabilitation phase may include one-to-one counselling, group therapy, yoga, acupuncture, massage, AA / CA / NA (Fellowship) Meetings, ‘Step’ Work based on the 12-Step Recovery protocol, Cognitive Brain Therapy and targeted workshops in addition to physical exercise.

Substance Rehabilitation will provide a detailed breakdown and explanation as to the exact nature of treatment at our clinics in order that an educated decision may be taken in regard to suitability. The extensive range of therapy is targeted to heal mind, body and soul through innovative and clinically proven techniques providing a pathway to sober living.

We offer a complete range of innovative and clinically proven programs for addiction treatment.
