NATRACARE ORGANIC TAMPONS
NOW AVAILABLE IN 20’s PACKS
Any female concerned about the effects of industrial pollutants on the their health and the environment will welcome the news that Natracare has announced new 20’s packs of its 100% organic, GM-free cotton non-applicator tampons.
The addition of the new 20’s packs to the Natracare organic tampon range means that most women will be able to buy one pack that lasts throughout the duration of their period. Natracare tampons and other products from the range which includes sanitary towels and panty shields are available from Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and health food stores around the country.
Like the rest of Natracare’s sanitary protection range, Natracare tampons are 100% non-chlorine bleached, making them less likely to produce or contain environment-damaging pollutants such as dioxin, which is currently being monitored by the US Government’s Environmental Protection Agency for its carcinogenic properties. In addition, the certified 100% non-GM, organic cotton that Natracare’s tampons are made from, is farmed without the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides that are harmful to the environment.
Natracare 100% organic cotton non-applicator tampons 20’s packs retail at £2.39 Regular and £2.49 Super. They are also available in smaller 10’s packs retailing at £1.69 Regular and £1.79 Super. Natracare 100% organic cotton tampons with applicators come in a box of 16 and cost £2.89 Regular and £2.99 Super. A scientific research report, ‘Propensity of Tampons and Barrier Contraceptives to Amplify Staphylococcus aureus Toxic Shock Syndrome Toxin-1’ by Philip M Tierno and Bruce A Hanna, tested 20 different varieties of tampons to ascertain the propensity of tampons to amplify Toxic Shock Syndrome. Results showed that 100% cotton tampons (including the Natracare brand) were the only tampons that did not produce the TSST-1 toxin responsible for causing almost all cases of Toxic Shock Syndrome in menstruating women.
