Ministry of Health & Prevention signs MoU with the Emirates Medical Association to advance health st

Pressbox (Press Release) - UAE, November 2, 2017 - The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), represented its Training and Development Center in Sharjah, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Medical Association to explore areas of cooperation and benefit from the expertise of the organization in all areas of the medical field and improve the skills of employees working in the health sector to better serve the community.

Saqr Al Hemeiri, Director of the Training and Development Center of MOHAP and Dr. Moza Al-Sharhan, President of the Emirates Medical Association signed the MoU, which is effective for one year and subject to renewal thereafter.

Al Hemeiri noted the importance of the MoU in providing access to education, training and other sources of learning for staff based on the highest international standards, which can help in improving professional performance and skills, enriching scientific knowledge, and enhancing laboratory and clinical practices in various health aspects. The partnership is part of the Ministry's strategy to ensure that all training services have met international standards in terms of quality and efficiency and meet the organizationís need to have a strong institutional capacity, through professional development programs, seminars, campaigns, workshops and conferences on local health problems and solutions. The Ministry of Health and Prevention is keen to support all aspects of cooperation and coordination that promote continuing medical education to provide excellent health care that serves the community and supports sustainable development.

The parties agreed to work together to provide technical support for the joint programs, including training facilities and educational materials, and providing accreditation for the continuing education and professional development programs. The MoU will facilitate the contribution and attendance of MOHAP staff in a wide range of educational programs. Furthermore, MOHAP and EMA shall cooperate in the implementation of the joint training programs for healthcare staff and in community awareness initiatives.

EMAís Dr. Al-Sharhan hailed the provision of the contents of the medical training programs to be at par with the latest concepts and international practices, as well as the efforts to upgrade medical and health staff through continuing medical education as it will help raise the level of knowledge and skills of health service providers in the UAE.
