Ministry of Health & Prevention celebrates 46th National Day

Pressbox (Press Release) - UAE, November 28, 2017 - The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) celebrated the UAE’s 46th National Day at its offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, medical areas, hospitals and health facilities in the presence of H.E. Dr. Salem Al Darmaki, Advisor to the UAE Minister of Health and Prevention, H.E. Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and H.E. Nasser Khalifa Al Badoor, Assistant Undersecretary and Director of Dubai Healthcare City, Department Directors, and Ministry employees.

The ceremony was inaugurated by a speech from H.E. Dr. Al Darmaki who affirmed that National Day is the foundation of a pure national and civilized project that upholds national identity and authentic tradition. It represents an entire history in which the highest national values meet the embodiment of the Union's epic. Thanks to the country’s Founder H.H. the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his brothers the Founding Fathers.

"The National Day celebrations in 2018 will commemorate the ‘Year of Zayed,’" said H.E. Dr. Al Darmaki. "This is a national occasion to celebrate the founding of the Union by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. It highlights the role of the late ruler in establishing and building the UAE, and commemorates Sheikh Zayed's personality, principles and values as one of the world's leading figures.”

The Advisor conveyed the highest congratulations to H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Rulers of the UAE on the occasion of the 46th National Day.

The military band enthusiastically performed pieces conveying the meaning of sacrifice, allegiance and love of the UAE. A poetic performance included national poems that emphasized the sense of pride for National Day and the achievements made through the vision of the wise leadership. The ceremony included a popular performance by Alyoulah Band and activities by kindergarten girls. There was also a performance about H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan marking the ‘Year of Zayed’ in 2018, along with other activities such as a National Projects Exhibition, the UAE Martyrs' Exhibition, the Union Spirit Exhibition, traditional handicrafts, and folk dishes and traditional drinks.
