Added: (Tue Mar 30 2021)

Pressbox (Press Release) - SKY PARK FARM is delighted to announce it will open its doors to the public on 21st May 2021.

Located in West Harting in the foothills of the South Downs National Park, Sky Park Farm is a working deer farm that has evolved to offer a cafe, farm shop, butcher, adventure playground and farm trail, allowing visitors to explore the farm and meet the deer.

A unique destination, visitors will be able to experience life on a working farm and access the spectacular grounds for walking and picnicking. The Adventure Playground offers a specifically designed woodland wonderland for children. Visitors to The Grazing Rooms will be able to dine from breakfast to tea, with a variety of quality dishes satisfying everything from a lite bite to a celebration meal.

The Farm Shop will deliver quality produce for everyday grocery needs - from local milk to seasonal vegetables and cheese. Sky Park Farm is already recognised as a centre of excellence, selling venison to Waitrose for the past three years. Locals will be able to shop for a full range of venison and other locally sourced meat directly from the Sky Park Farm Butcher.

Sky Park Farm is an avid supporter of the local community and keen to partner with quality local businesses. Education is at the heart of Sky Park Farm’s mission and a dedicated centre will be available to extend understanding of deer farming and farmland management.

Pierce and Victoria Noonan, owners of Sky Park Farm said: “We’re so excited to be opening our doors and sharing what we have created here at Sky Park Farm. We are passionate about preserving and enhancing the natural environment, nurturing the land for future enjoyment. We are a family run business and have worked hard to offer something for all generations. Our mission is to ensure all visitors leave with a smile”.

The renovation plans and new visitors' centre at Sky Park Farm were approved by the South Downs National Park Authority in 2019. The landscape-led application was commended for being a great example of rural diversification that benefits communities and the local economy.

Kat Beer, Sustainable Tourism Lead for the National Park, said: "It's exciting to welcome a new visitor attraction to the South Downs National Park that will provide jobs and support other local businesses through its high-quality local food offer. It promises to give people a wonderful opportunity to learn more about landscape, nature and farming at a truly beautiful location."

Note to editors:

Family-owned Sky Park Farm is among the UK’s principal deer farms. With a vision to restore the heritage of deer parks in Harting, an ancient parish in the South Downs National Park, the farm nurtures a large herd of majestic red deer. Visitors are welcome to view the deer at close quarters, picnic in the parkland, explore the adventure playground and call in at the farm shop. With venison on the menu in The Grazing Rooms Cafe, prime cuts on display in the butcher and an education centre dedicated to deer husbandry, Sky Park Farm is truly devoted to deer.

Sky Park Farm was awarded a grant by The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development in 2019 to support the development of the farm shop and café building. This programme supports rural development strategies and projects.
