DDD and 4D-Vision take glasses-free 3D TV to NAB2001
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (April 17, 2001) - Dynamic Digital Depth Inc. (CDNX:DDE) and 4D-Vision GmbH will showcase the latest music videos from Madonna and Dave Matthews on giant 50” glasses-free 3D screens at NAB 2001, booth #E4406 at The Sands Expo Center.
“Being able to see 3D without glasses is the greatest advance in the 3D industry to date,” said Chris Yewdall, president and CEO of DDD. “It will be the catalyst for bringing 3D to mainstream entertainment.”
DDD’s patented 3D content creation, delivery and display technologies power the 3D screens, which are manufactured by 4D-Vision of Germany. The two companies are partnering at the National Association of Broadcasters convention, April 22-26, to give broadcasters a look at the future of television.
The first mass-market use of the 3D screens will be in shopping malls in May, as part of a mall-based entertainment and advertising network.
DDD is bringing 3D without glasses to mainstream entertainment. Its patented OpticBOOMTM technologies enable 3D viewing without glasses; fast and easy creation of 3D content for film and video; and efficient transmission of 3D for Internet, television, CD and DVD. The free OpticBOOM Plug-in and more information are available at www.ddd.com. DDD is publicly traded on The Canadian Venture Exchange under the symbol CDNX:DDE.
