“There’s No Place Like Home” launches for comedy and for writers.
“There’s No Place Like Home” is re-launching its ‘spoof news’ web site after a one year gap, in which it has re-developed and re-designed both its web site and its business plan
Under the company and domain title laughsend.com - the company now functions as a front for upcoming comedy writers and journalist writers. Managing Director, Paul Lowton says:
“Laughsend is a web site where absolutely anybody can post their own spoof articles on news, headlines, sport, the world – anything”
The aim of the web site is to provide a portal for upcoming writers to present their work on-line.
“The problem with on-line publishing is that it’s very dull, very bland and text based. We have hopefully created somewhere bright and fun from which to read.”
The web site allows prospective authors to send their articles, giving a few personal details. When the article is posted to the web site, one can see who wrote the article and contact that author.
“There’s No Place Like Home” is currently unfunded and does not pay for articles. Alastair Schtirbu, Creative Director, states:
”We hope to get people posting to the site who are doing it for self-promotion and/or personal enjoyment. Of course they want to earn a living by writing, but we realise there is a need to get work seen.”
To promote the re-launch, laughsend.com is currently holding a competition to win a ‘special’ alarm clock which interfaces with your PC.
