Former ELECTRONIC ARTS talent comes together to produce first music title for PS2
FOR RELEASE 16 AUGUST 2000
VANCOUVER, CANADA - THE FIRST MUSIC TITLE of its kind for the forthcoming Sony Playstation(R) 2 console emerges from Electronic Arts' backyard. ModernGroove Entertainment, Inc. announced today they will unveil the ModernGroove PS2 music title in November of this year - just in time for Christmas.
ModernGroove is the most unique product to date for the PS2. With over 20 hours of original Hip Hop, House, Trance and Drum & Bass music from today's leading DJs, synched in real time to interactive 3D objects, sprawling backgrounds and niche film clips - the ModernGroove title is the ideal lifestyle product for the PS2 generation. The ModernGroove title is a pioneer with respect to it's utilization of the enhanced functionality of the PS2 console, enabling users to drop in their own music and images into the mix via peripherals plugged into the PS2 USB port.
ModernGroove Entertainment's ability to attract key players from major studios such as Electronic Arts Canada has been critical to the development of ModernGroove. An example of this is Adrian Crook, producer of EAC's Sled Storm title for the Sony PlayStation (over 800,000 units to date), who is now the Executive Producer of ModernGroove Entertainment International Inc. and the brainchild behind ModernGroove. The attraction of premium talent from a number of local and international entertainment studios has raised the eyebrows of these industry giants in the past - the release of ModernGroove for PS2 is sure to do the same.
ModernGroove Entertainment International, Inc., headquarted in Los Angeles with studio operations in Vancouver, Canada, is an emerging leader in the production and delivery of interactive entertainment and streaming media for next generation, internet-enabled platforms such as the PlayStation(R) 2 computer entertainment system and the personal computer. Founded in August 1999, ModernGroove now boasts a staff of over 40 artists, engineers, producers, and business personnel.
