Pressbox (Press Release) -
Writers in the Sky (WITS) is a three-fold production—blog, podcast, and newsletter filled with information about writing, publishing and book publicity published by Writers in the Sky Creative Writing Services.
WITS is the acronym for Writers in the Sky. You’ll find it online as a blog, a podcast, a newsletter, and the name of a company that provides a wide range of writing and editing services. Owner Yvonne Perry recently trademarked the name Writers in the Sky Creative Services that has been used for the blog, podcast, and newsletter since early 2006. Now it is also the name of the company formerly known as Write On! Creative Writing Services.
“When we learned that there was another writing company known as Write On, we needed to change the name of our company,” says Perry. “We decided to adopt the name we had already been using for our blog, podcast, and newsletter. It made sense to use a name that people already associated with our company.”
On the blog, http://yvonneperry.blogspot.com you will find links to the 78+ archived podcasts WITS has recorded since the show began in October of 2006. The blog features articles, announcements, book reviews, and poetry written by subscribers to Writers in the Sky newsletter, and it further serves as a host site for virtual tour stops.
MaAnna Stephenson is a WITS client and the author of The Sage Age. Stephenson says, “Yvonne, your newsletter and your podcasts are absolute gold mines of info especially to a newbie like me. I really appreciate that you open it up to other folks for writing tidbits. It really makes the whole thing well rounded and there's always something for everyone there. Thank you for making it available for free. It's an awesome resource!”
WITS offers authors a chance to be heard on the Internet through their podcast on writing, publishing, and book marketing. Since the listeners of the podcast are writers and readers, authors looking for book publicity find the show a perfect fit to reach their target audience. Not only does the podcast offer authors a chance to showcase their new releases, it provides helpful information about the publishing industry and tips for book marketing. Here is the lineup of guests who will appear on WITS podcast in June 2008:
