Added: (Mon Mar 26 2001)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Six Stockport Grammar School pupils have been chosen to perform in the forthcoming musical based on the life of Sir Matt Busby. Tom Campbell, Scott Hill, Mark Griffiths, Behnam Shakeri, Richard Wilson, and Oliver Jones are all looking forward to the opening night at the Bridgewater Hall on April 9th. “Out of 40 boys seen for the production, 10 boys were selected, so to have 6 chosen from our school is a real achievement,” explains Stockport Grammar’s Head of Music Jackson Towers.

Top artistic producer Patrick Nally is behind the new show, with Mancunian tenor Russell Watson playing the role of Sir Matt. Alex Ferguson and the Premiership Champions are also expected to make an appearance. The show, entitled “The Theatre of Dreams”, chronicles Sir Matt’s decades with the club. Both the BBC and Granada are in discussions with the show’s producers to screen the showcase later this year.
