Radun Controls Ltd Announce major enhancement to its Sentinel School Registration System.
Announcement Date: August 2000
Radun Controls Ltd has today announced a major step forward from the only true REAL TIME School Registration System in the UK.
This is the system that places the responsibility for registration on the person with the true responsibility – The PUPIL.
By using low cost swipe cards and high technology hardware and software, the network system has the ability to monitor data in real time, therefore pupils actual whereabouts is achieved. This information is particular useful in the emergency situations, such as Fire Drills etc. With the complexity of student timetables involving setting, streaming, free periods and carousels and multi-building school sites it is almost impossible to know where one pupil is at any one time of day. This is particularly true of years 12 and 13 where tracking whether they are even on site is a problem. This system eliminates that risk.
It has also been recognised that electronics registration systems make a significant improvement on in school truancy. For the last 8 years, The Sentinel System has provided a solution to this dilemma while at the same time providing all the statistical data and control expected of a system in this field. With full internal and external access control, cashless catering and a library system Sentinel has proved a powerful argument to a large number of schools.
To further enhance this capability and in conjunction with some of our leading edge schools, we have developed the software intelligence to generate timetables at an individual pupil level. The system is capable of taking a specified number of weeks of swipe data with a specified minimum class size and generating timetable information for every pupil in the school. This depth of information eliminates the complexity of data for years 10 - 13, where subject choice together with tutor groups split for setting, streaming, free periods and carousels, which create high risk in pupil tracking and data management. An important factor to note is that Sentinel has never lost any card data for any school over the last 8 years.
