Pressbox (Press Release) - Young Scientists from biotechnology department of IILM Engineering College invented ‘Happer’- a new agro-machinery to replace ‘thresher’
Keeping in mind the poor, small and subsistence-level farmers, students of biotechnology have invented a new agro-machinery -Happer, which will act as an alternative to the costly agro-equipment- ‘thresher’. Happer - a semi-grater repulsion machine will be manufactured in two models- small and big versions. Its chief purpose was to help the small and poor farmers which will ultimately occur as a big invention in the field of agriculture.
This machine can be used to grind than one pulses together. Additional to this, it will help in segregating the husk from wheat or rice crop. The smaller model of this newly designed machine will cost Rs 4000 while the bigger model will cost for Rs 9000. With the help of the bigger model, the farmers can process the cereals up to two quintals. Moreover, the machine is designed in such a way that it will require low maintenance and operating cost. The required current to operate the machine is just 48 watts.
It has been deliberately told by young scientists that due to high-cost involvement and huge maintenance charges many of the farmers were not able to purchase and operate the ‘thresher’. Keeping that fact, the machine, Happer has the least cost involved in it. The machine will help small farmers to easily store, segregate and/or mix the cereals with ease. At lowest energy consumption, the cereals of different weight can be separated using this machine.
MTech student - Ms. Priyanka Yadav from Biotechnology Department, IILM is one of the members of the innovatorteam. Presently, a Noida based company has shown interest in manufacturing this machine.
