There's a new online magazine and kids are guaranteed to love it! Why? Because kids write the stories, draw the illustrations, and even create the ads!

The name of the magazine is Kids Online Magazine (www.KidsOnlineMagazine.com). Thousands of children from all around the world visit the site each month and read articles and stories on many different topics that are written by other children. After reading other kid's writing, many are inspired to send in their own.

The website was created by a work at home mother, Shana Brumlow, and her 7 year old daughter Nikki, who loves to write stories. Nikki thinks that "the coolest thing about the website is that your friends and people all over the world can see what you did. You can put pictures, stories, and all kinds of stuff on the site!"

Even grown-ups love the site. Danielle McClain of BellaOnline.com thinks that the site has "a great approach to let children express their creative side - by writing! Children will gain great awareness of who they are and learn how to share that with others."

After a young writer named Samantha had her writing published on the site, her mother remarked, "Thank you so much for making Samantha's dreams come true. She is so excited about writing and it was announced at her school what she had accomplished."

The site has gained a great deal of praise and has won several awards since it's lauch in October of 2001. It was recently named a "hot site" by USA Today.com, and has gained praise from educational websites, parents, teachers, and most importantly, from the kids who send in their writing!

The website will publish writing on any topic, as long as it is written by an author who is 18 or younger, and as long as the language and message of the writing is appropriate for all audiences. They will also publish artwork and "wacky ads" that meet the same criteria.

The privacy and protection of the young authors and artists is very important. The child's parent or teacher must give their permission for their work to be published online, and the website will never publish an article that gives too much information about the young author, such as their last name or location.

Parents, Teachers and Children can visit the website now and have their writing published in the current edition of the online magazine. The website's address is: http://www.KidsOnlineMagazine.com
