Back for its third year the fabulous Christmas Fair is bigger and better than ever before!
The Hon Simon and Mrs Howard along with the Castle Howard staff are once again delighted to host the Christmas Fair on behalf of the Norton & Villages branch of the NSPCC. The Fair will be held in the House on Wednesday 5th November 2003 between 9.30am and 3.30pm, with a preview evening on the night before. Now in its third year at Castle Howard the Christmas Fair raised over £22,000 in 2002 for the NSPCC Northern Regions and hopes to exceed that figure this year.
With fifty stalls occupying many of the beautiful rooms at Castle Howard this year’s Christmas Fair will have something for all of the family. Christmas presents for every taste and age group, from stylish hats and designer wear to the latest kitchen implements. There will also be unique interior goods, romantic picnic ware, exotic silk flowers, children’s clothes & toys, amusing gifts for those tricky teenage years, gadgets for the gentleman in your life and much more. New for 2003 will be a NSPCC food stall selling homemade cakes, jams and other delicious treats.
York based Persimmon are this year’s main sponsors of the event. English Rose Hotels have donated a weekend for two at Charington Manor including dinner, bed and breakfast as the main raffle prize. Other raffle prizes include a case of wine from York Wines in Sheriff Hutton and a luxurious Christmas Hamper from Scrumptious Deli, Kirkbymoorside.
Entry to the Christmas Fair is £5 per person and for the evening preview tickets cost £10 per person. All funds raised will help to finance NSPCC projects here in North Yorkshire. Projects include the development of the York Therapeutic Team to help children overcome the effects of abuse. Work is continuing in Scarborough at Westway House, providing a wide range of preventative services to the families in the Eastfield Community. Further funding is required to maintain and develop these projects.
Adults and children are welcome to the Christmas Fair although please note that as pushchairs are not allowed in the House there will be a designated safe area in which to leave them. If you require more information about the NSPCC Christmas Fair please contact Norton and Villages NSPCC on 01653 697966.
