Toronto Canada, July 15, 2003 – Gay!Evolution (g!e), a gay-owned and operated company, today announced their goal to gather one million “coming out” stories to create the world’s largest repository of first-person history.

“To further discover where you are, you have to celebrate you’ve been,” says Dan Trepanier, co-founder of g!e. “We believe we’re at a point in our history, as a global community, where it is time to gather a collective story of who we are. In our own words. For ourselves. For those who have come before us. And for those who will come after. Our goal is simply to tell our story on a person-by-person basis. We all have a coming out story to tell. g!e is the place for those stories to be told –capturing the details of BOTH the person coming out AND the person receiving the story.”

“A million stories is a significant number - and not impossible in our months of Pride,” adds Pete Koffron, co-founder of g!e. “Unlike other coming out sites, we also wish to capture both sides of the story, what what shared, and what was heard from the perspectives of moms, dads or brothers, sisters, grandmas, grandpas, coworkers, classmates, friends - you name it.”

The AIDS Epidemic. Matthew Shepard. These are our stories. But they are only some of our stories. There are a millions out there. From the poles to the equators – and right next door” says Trepanier, “we wish to capture cultures, creeds and traditions – worldwide.”
