Nicholas Dixon is the CEO of Oceanroc Web Consulting.A 22 years old web savvy entrepreneur , Nicholas and his company are based in Mandeville , Jamaica.For the past three years , Oceanroc Web Consulting has been involved in various aspects of the Internet.

We are the publishers of five websites and a newsletter : The Roc.Other areas of specialization include : Web designing , Internet marketing , search engine optimization(SEO) and research.Nicholas who was born and grown in around Mandeville steers the one man company.

Such is our love of Mandeville , that we created a website about it.That website : WWW.Geocities.com/Oceanroc is the pride of Oceanroc Web Consulting.The recipient of the Deco Gold and the Golden Web Awards , it has received # 1 rankings in Google, MSN , AOL and Yahoo.Believe it or not , all this was achieved without a dollar spent on advertising.

As a self taught marketer , Nicholas and his company has accomplished much since it's inception.What started out as a hobby has morphed into a web based business entity.As one of Jamaica's new generation of infotrepreneurs , Nicholas sees the technology sector as one with a bright future.

The Internet has levelled the playing field , enabling ordinary people to do extraordinary things.The "small guy" now has the opportunity to compete with the “big boys”.One of the drawbacks to the telecommunications sector though , is the amount of taxes imposed on it.

How can the Jamaican government produce growth if they are burdening down people ? The telecommunications industry is now faced with a 20 % GCT burden.Not to mention the re-introduction of taxes on computers and related parts.These actions have discouraged many a person from venturing into E-Commerce.

Oceanroc Web Consulting is committed to the future though.In spite of the negatives , we will continue on our path to E-xcellence.These days to survive at the mercy of the government takes courage and strength.But , the future is still bright for those who are prepared to fight it though.Where will we be at the end of it all ? Somewhere near the top !!!
