The association of three of the leading bar industry companies marked and celebrated the opportunity for fulfilling dreams and ambitions, with a massive achievement and three new world records.

One winter’s afternoon on Wednesday 27th February 2002 the team achieved the record for the largest cocktail ever made in an ice cocktail glass, the tallest iced cocktail glass on Earth and made a new record with the most cocktails never created before within a 1-hour time period.

Having already received support and generous donations from leading spirit companies and drinks companies such as Appleton Rum, Polstar vodka, Pago fruit juices, Tuaca liqueur.
The event made a prominent entry in the industry diary, with all proceeds and profits being donated to The Princess Trust Charity.

The afternoon’s program of activity has been organized and structured to allow the public and invited guests to a packed time of fun, live music, spirit and cocktail tasting all running parallel to the main event and competitions.

The event took place from 12:30pm at The Rock Garden, located in the piazza in Covent Garden. The event was very much an appreciation of the growth of the bar industry and an opportunity to discover The Best Cocktail Bar @ Home, The Orbit Bar, the leading independent mobile cocktail bar in Britain, soon the World…

The Orbit Bar: the leading independent mobile cocktail bar in Britain, created and owned by one of France’s top and most respected barmen; Christophe Coppee.
The Princess Trust funded O.B. in its conception, and Shell LiveWire awarded The Orbit Bar, a Greater London Region finalist, one of the best 100 young businesses in the UK in May 2001. Christophe was the main mixoligist. He holds one of the most prestigious title award in the Bar industry, the Guinness world record by creating the most new cocktails within one hour period time.

Barconnect: is a principal consultancy, training and recruitment company, and have proved themselves to be an invaluable asset for the bar industry and have worked closely with some of the top bars and nightclubs in London.
They were responsible for the event management, sponsored by spirits & drinks companies. They are world record holder for the biggest cocktail made in an iced cocktail glass.

The Ice Box: the leading suppliers of ice and ice sculptures to parties and bars, restaurants and nightclubs all over the country. Their knowledge and experience was essential to the event. They supplied Orbit Bar with a superb sculpted iced mobile bar for the Challenge. They are Guinness World Record holder for the tallest iced cocktail glass on Earth.
