BMPtvi and BBC MediaArc bring Tiger Electronics’ i-Cybie to Sky Active.

The launch of i-Cybie, Tiger Electronics’ interactive robotic cyber dog, on 9th October is the first from the newly formed BMPtvi and BBC MediaArc partnership (planning through OMD UK). The “doggie style” campaign is also the first to use animated video banners on the new Sky Active channel. Targeting adults and children, the dedicated advertiser location (DAL) is based around a video created specifically for iTV. There is also a “spot the dog” competition and a link to Argos enabling viewers to purchase direct from their TV.

This new interactive i-Cybie advertisement amusingly illustrates the full features of the product through a simple boy/girl storyline. The subsequent competition then tests the viewers’ knowledge of i-Cybie.

Louise Shipley, Marketing Manager at Tiger Electronics comments, “interactive TV is such a perfect fit for i-Cybie – the ultimate hi-tech hound living in an interactive TV world. The i-Cybie brand is linked to interactivity and technology through this campaign and therefore the relevant target audiences ” she adds, “ BMPtvi and BBC MediaArc understand the business of iTV. Their expertises and knowledge has allowed us to run our first interactive campaign effectively and efficiently”.

By allowing multiple entries to the “spot the dog” competition viewers increase their chances of winning a Tivo Personal video recorder. This encourages viewers to enter the competition and enables Tiger Electronics to track users more easily. The yellow key on the remote control allows viewers to purchase the i-Cybie through the Argos store located on Sky Active.
