Shwing! is pleased to announce the release of a independent, creative community and search directory. The new portal includes an art gallery, forum, articles, weather, horoscopes, news, games and events.

Shwing! is a Los Angeles-based hybrid, global web portal and search directory. In this ever-changing world, we believe in the power of diversity, that people should always be the most important part of any formula.

With your help, we hope to become a thriving world arts and culture community and to inspire social change by providing a platform for people across the globe to communicate and exchange ideas.

While we love Gandhi and Mother Teresa, we have not taken a vow of poverty and hope to successfully marry creativity with content, culture, community and commerce; with a portion of profits going to worthwhile causes. Although our current business model is advertiser-based, we do have strategic plans for subscription and ecommerce-based services - such as email, premium listings and merchandise sales.

Shwing! welcomes all "people for change" who view artistic and cultural exchange as paths to understanding and tolerance. Shwing! is part art and part science, part mystical and part mundane.

No matter where you are from or how you find our site, we look forward to your participation in creating a vibrant, educational and fun community. Shwing will not succeed without active participation by users like you.

As a fledgling independent site with no outside investment, we are bound to have our share of growing pains. Please bear with us as we make our journey towards growth and maturity. Shwing! will be continually updated and modified as needed. There remains a lot to be done.

"Shwing" is a made-up word. We like to say it means everything and nothing. Shwing signifies that words are things and that language should unify and not tear asunder. Shwing is about movement, change and coming together. It is about die-hard idealism, humor, inclusion, awareness and consciousness.
