About a year ago I had an undercover policeman come to me for a psychic reading. I had been doing readings for about 15 years. Although I was fairly new to this neighborhood. He came to my home, my office. I had a client with me while he and another client waited in the waiting room. After I finished the session with my first client the undercover came in for his session.
He could barely look at me the whole session.
When he left, I took the lady who was next. In the middle of her session someone knocked on the door. I knew I had no one else scheduled. I opened the door and it was the undercover policeman with a few of his friends. To make a long story short... Anyway, they came in and took my tarot cards and told me that it was against the law to earn money reading for people and also that I could not advertise. I cracked up on the spot. They said they would search my house. I said for what? They said... more cards.
I fell out again. They said that I was under arrest for fortune telling. I told them that I been doing this for years and a couple of months ago I gave free readings down the street at the bookstore. I told them that I had been on television 3 times and radio numerous times as a professional psychic. I told them that the state constable who worked out of the judges office had been a client of mine for years. They went forward anyway. I never went to jail, but I did have to go to court. If you can call it that.
When I got there the judge offered me pizza and coke. The police said I would have to put "for entertainment only" on all of my advertising.
I told them to put "for entertainment only" on their badges cause that is how I saw them. Anyway, the local newspaper showed up for the case and so did the state constable.
