siege of harlech castle - 10.30 wed 21.3.01

Added: (Tue Mar 20 2001)

Pressbox (Press Release) - The Harlech Tourism Association invites the press to visit the latest siege of HARLECH CASTLE at 10.30am Wednesday 21st March 2001.

A medieval knight will seek to retake the castle.

Six resolute sheep grazing the castle moat have been defending the castle against all invading visitors since the foot and mouth outbreak began, despite the fact there is no direct contact between the sheep and the public. In fact the car park is closer to the sheep than the footbrige over the moat into the castle.

Despite that, nice Mr Blair's assurances that there is still 'plenty to do' in the countryside, the custodians of the castle CADW, have been unable to sort out the problem. Are they trying to poll the wool over our eyes?
