G-site Web Partners with the City of Long Beach to Promote "Long Beach Cares - Long Beach Helping Long Beach"
LONG BEACH, CA., February 2006 - G-site Web, a Long Beach company providing web development, web content and Internet solutions, is proud to announce its official partnership with "Long Beach Cares - Long Beach Helping Long Beach" a program organized by the City of Long Beach, California to aid the City of Long Beach, Mississippi, which was seriously damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2006.
"Long Beach Cares" -- a website ( www.LongBeachCares.org ) started in September 2005, shortly after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, was created by G-site Web founder, Lorenzo Gigliotti. The site's original function was to promote ongoing local fundraisers, local relief events and to expand awareness of those efforts within the community of Long Beach, California.
The website's name "Long Beach Cares" was officially adopted by the City of Long Beach, California in January 2006 and G-site Web was asked to continue working closely with City staff to promote the City's campaign to help Long Beach, Mississippi.
In a recent television interview, Gigliotti was asked about his thoughts concerning the City's adoption of the "Long Beach Cares" title. Gigliotti stated -- "I was very happy about that -- because it was in the spirit of the whole thing [the original community spirit of helping]."
The official launch of the City program occurred on January 5, 2006 with an initial donation of two city trucks, which were transported by rail to Long Beach, Mississippi (transportation was donated by Union Pacific).
More events are being planned and will take place throughout the upcoming months.
G-site Web and its subsidiary, LongBeachOnLine.net, as well as www.LongBeachCares.org is providing online services and web promotions to increase awareness of local Katrina relief events and rally community involvement.
The website located at www.LongBeachCares.org lists events, program details and other information.
