Jeddah / 21 April 2013: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector has witnessed steady development and growth, manifested by the strong performances in key industries such as the kitchen, bathroom, pool and spa sectors. The support extended by the wise leadership of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has been recognized as one of the key factors that have resulted in the strong growth of these industries.
The continuing surge in construction activities in KSA, where construction projects are estimated to reach a value of SAR 403.15 billion by 2015, has stimulated the high demand for kitchen and bathroom products as well as spa and pool materials. Major construction projects initiated by the Saudi Arabian Government include the King Abdullah Economic City, Sudair Industrial City, Jizan Economic City, and other industrial cities in various regions of the Kingdom. Moreover, the establishment of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) has been recognized as another breakthrough initiative that is driving the growth of the design and construction industries.
Madam Haya Sunaidi, Chairman of Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions, said: “The industrial sector continues to sustain its solid gains in line with the economic diversification agenda of the KSA Government. These industries are strongly benefiting from proactive government support and the growing number of construction and property development projects across the Kingdom. The manufacture of products including plastic, rubber, ceramics, tiles, sanitary ware, porcelain and other materials averaged SAR 30 million in the past two years, and we are confident that we will sustain this growth rate. Moreover, the private sector must continue to work closely with government authorities to be able to better serve the needs of the local market.”
“The robust market conditions in KSA have tremendously influenced the growth of the kitchen and bathroom segment as well as the pool utilities and spa equipment market, putting us on course to overtake international brands in these categories. We have therefore decided to gather together local and international companies in these key sectors to join two exhibitions – ‘Saudi Kitchen & Bathroom Expo’ and ‘Saudi Pool & Spa Expo – as part of our ongoing efforts to drive production and stimulate local industries.
Our main goal throughout these exhibitions is to support the industrial sector of KSA and to help develop and place local expertise on a par with international standards,” Sunaidi added.
The Kingdom has devoted great attention to the development of industrial exports in accordance with the KSA Government's comprehensive economic development strategy, aiming to expand production bases and diversify KSA’s revenue sources.
Saudi Kitchen & Bathroom Expo 2013 and Saudi Pool & Spa Expo 2013 will be held from April 30th – May 2nd at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
