Pressbox (Press Release) -
London and New York [January 10, 2001]……TFPL, the leading international knowledge and information management consultancy, training and recruitment company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Lank as an Associate of TFPL Ltd., effective January, 2001.
Lank, formerly Programme Director, Mobilising Knowledge at ICL will play a key role in developing TFPL’s rapidly expanding consultancy services, focusing on implementing and sustaining knowledge cultures within organisations. She will lead and contribute to seminars and conferences and act as an Advisor to KnowledgeRecruit – TFPL’s specialist service for clients recruiting knowledge executives and their teams.
“With information and knowledge becoming the key drivers of economic competitiveness, these are exciting times to be involved in the process of managing business information and in leveraging knowledge assets – Elizabeth’s extensive experience of tackling in-company knowledge management challenges will add new strength to our growing consultancy and training team,” said Nigel Oxbrow, founder and CEO of TFPL.
Oxbrow added, “Elizabeth will play a critical role in promoting client awareness of knowledge management issues, and in contributing to our strategic knowledge management masterclass sessions with Chief Knowledge Officers in both the public and private sector. We also expect Elizabeth to take an active role in facilitating discussion and focus group sessions on knowledge management issues, along with direct involvement in the strategic development of TFPL’s business.”
At ICL, Lank was appointed by Keith Todd, the CEO in 1996 to a leading role at the centre of the company’s efforts to treat knowledge as a key business asset. Code-named Project VIK (Valuing ICL Knowledge), Lank helped establish an intranet information service, called Café VIK , as the first deliverable in ICL’s transition to becoming a knowledge-focused enterprise. Her other responsibilities included prioritising the company's knowledge assets, educating leaders in their responsibilities for managing knowledge and integrating knowledge sharing within core business processes.
Elizabeth is co-author of the book The Power of Learning - A Guide to Gaining Competitive Advantage (IPD 1994), and in 1998 collaborated with Amin Rajan on the research report Good Practices in Knowledge Creation and Exchange. She is a member of the international editorial board of the Journal of Knowledge Management and Knowledge Management Review.
“There's nothing like addressing this knowledge issue for real, in practical terms, to make you appreciate how crucial it is to the success of any 21st century organisation. I am delighted to have the opportunity to push the thinking further forward in partnership with TFPL - and most importantly, to help TFPL's clients get a handle on what they can do differently on Monday morning to harness their knowledge assets effectively” said Elizabeth Lank.
