Pressbox (Press Release) - Talented business developer Gregory David has lifted the lid on his powers of persuasion with a five-star new self-help guide.
In Shhh…The Art and Science of Seduction and Manipulation he blends science, psychology and his worldly experience to reveal the secrets to getting what you want.
Whether it’s gaining better employment, winning someone’s affections or securing a deal, Gregory provides the answers in his convincing new book.
Described by critics as ‘a manual of magic’ and ‘seriously useful’, Shhh…The Art and Science of Seduction and Manipulation has already reached the top three in Amazon’s business charts.
Gregory, who now lives in west-central London, said: “Ultimately Shhh…The Art and Science of Seduction and Manipulation is designed to give the reader confidence in communicating with others in any situation.
“The book condenses years of all the research I have done into the psychology of people - what motivates them and therefore how to influence them.
“The book probes the human psyche at a basic level and integrates anthropology with years of practical experience.
“It will arm the reader with proven methods and techniques to enable them to truly connect with other people on any level.”
A talented writer and communicator from an early age, Gregory moved to the Middle East, then Australia before settling in New Zealand.
Succesful in sales and business management, he returned to the UK midway through the 1990s to head up one of the country’s fastest-growing ad agencies.
Gregory, though, reinvented himself as a carpenter during his 40s to merge his business consultancy company with property development opportunities.
As well as continuing to run his successful enterprise, the 58-year-old is a volunteer cook at a homeless centre and can often be found busking for pleasure with his saxophone at Shepherd’s Bush market.
But behind a colourful and successful life, Gregory has suffered from the long-term effects of childhood sexual abuse.
He now writes for the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy flagship magazine, Therapy Today, as well giving talks and presentations for other survivors.
Gregory added: “I had a monumental nervous breakdown in my early 50s caused by childhood sexual abuse.
“I have wrestled with depression and addiction all my life because of the abuse which deeply traumatizes the child and has lifetime lasting effects.
“I am now actively involved in supporting other survivors.
“Shhh…The Art and Science of Seduction and Manipulation for me is in part the first step in communicating the challenge that childhood sexual abuse presents humankind.
“A child from a household with no safety develops acute survival strategies and I built on these and the need to create safety by learning how to influence people - this helped me become very successful in selling.”
Gregory lives with nurse, childhood sweetheart and wife Heather in Hammersmith and is working on his next book, The Art & Science of Surviving Trauma along with curating a booklet of stories authored by other male CSA survivors due to be circulated to medical professionals.
